Why do a color-change wrap instead of paint?

A professional wrap lets you change the look of your vehicle using removable, paint-safe films from premium manufacturers like 3M and Avery Dennison. You get custom colors (matte, satin, metallic, color-shift, brushed, even textured) while protecting the OEM paint underneath.

It’s a smart option for leased vehicles, high-end cars, and commercial vehicles that need to match brand colors without permanent paint work.

  • Paint-safe & reversible
  • Wide finish options (matte, satin, gloss, metallic)
  • Protects from light road wear & UV
  • Great for partials (hood / roof / blackout)
  • Faster than body shop paint

Vehicle Color Change — FAQs

All the questions we get in the Columbus & Central Ohio shop — in one place.

1. How much does a color-change wrap cost?

Most standard vehicles in Central Ohio fall in the $2,800–$5,500+ range depending on vehicle size, film brand, finish (matte/satin/color-shift is more), and how much disassembly is needed. Large SUVs, Sprinters, and trucks are higher.

2. What vehicles can you wrap?

Cars, trucks, SUVs, vans, Sprinters, box trucks, work vehicles, and specialty vehicles — if the surface is sound and paint is in good condition, we can usually wrap it.

3. What brands of wrap vinyl do you use?

We primarily use 3M 2080 and Avery Dennison SW900 premium color-change films — the same lines used on high-end builds. We can also source ORAFOL and specialty films.

4. Will the wrap damage my paint?

No — on sound OEM paint, a professionally installed wrap is paint-safe and removable. In many cases it actually protects your clear coat from UV and light wear.

5. How long does a color-change wrap last?

Typically 4–7 years depending on color, exposure, wash routine, and where the vehicle is stored. Matte and satin finishes need a bit more care.

6. Is this a full wrap — like door jambs and inside doors?

Standard color-change covers all exterior visible surfaces when the vehicle is closed. Jambs, inner doors, engine bay are optional and quoted separate.

7. Do you remove door handles, mirrors, emblems, trim?

For the best result, yes — we de-trim where appropriate. We’ll tell you what can be removed vs. wrapped in place.

8. Can I wrap over scratches, rock chips, or bad paint?

Wrap film conforms to what’s underneath. Heavy chips, rust, or failing clear will show. We’ll flag it at consult.

9. What finishes can I pick from?

Matte, satin, gloss, metallic, pearl, color-shift/chameleon, brushed, carbon fiber — and blackout packages. Two-tone is popular (roof in black).

10. Can you match my business brand color?

Often yes — we can match from existing vinyl lines or print to a brand color if exact tone is needed.

11. How do I wash a wrapped vehicle?

Hand wash, mild soap, soft mitt. Avoid harsh chemicals and brush washes. We’ll give you an after-care sheet.

12. Can I ceramic coat the wrap?

Yes — wrap-safe ceramic coatings are great for color-change. Ask us for the right product.

13. Do you do blackouts / chrome delete?

We do — grilles, trim, mirrors, roof, spoilers. We can make the whole build look intentional.

14. How long do you need the vehicle?

Most full wraps are 2–3 shop days. High-complexity or jamb work can take longer.

15. Can I wrap just the hood, roof, or lower half?

Yes — partials are common and a great way to refresh or protect problem areas.

16. Can I wrap leased vehicles?

Yes — wraps are removable at end of lease and help protect paint.

17. Do you remove old wraps?

Yes — we can remove old graphics/wraps prior to install. Very old/baked film may take extra time.

18. Do you warranty your installs?

Yes — we stand behind installs and we use films with manufacturer backing.

19. Can you add graphics on top of a color-change?

Absolutely — door logos, DOT, unit numbers, stripes — on top of a clean color base.

20. Do you serve outside Columbus?

Yes — we serve a 100-mile radius from Lewis Center: Columbus, Dublin, Westerville, Powell, New Albany, Delaware, Grove City, Hilliard, Gahanna, Newark, Lancaster, Springfield.
